School of St Jude November Update

Dear All at The Rotary Club of Ryde Inc,

Greetings from St Jude’s!

We are very excited to introduce to you a new form of correspondence from our fantastic teachers here at St Jude’s who are eager to share their success with you! Elkanai has written a letter of introduction, touching on some of the interesting things happening in her classroom this year, as well as all the ways your sponsorship is making a difference.

Please feel free to email or write to your sponsored teacher. You can send emails to sponsor@schoolofstjude.co.tz and the sponsorship team will be happy to pass on your letter to your sponsored teacher. Please be aware that our teachers may not always be able to reply to you due to their busy academic schedules. We hope you enjoy Elkanai’s letter below and we would love any feedback you may have. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

Thank you for your continuing support of St Jude’s.

****************

My name is Elkanai and I am 30 years old. I am a Social Studies teacher and I have been teaching for eleven years now, but at St Jude I have been teaching since 2010. I was teaching Social Studies to grade 5 & 6 but I am now in the library. I hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and I like sharing stories with the students.

In the library I’m reading stories with the students, both fiction and non-fiction. Also I like sharing different skills with my fellow staff. I have been doing different activities in Extra Curricular Activities like netball, aerobics, volleyball, singing and dancing, traditional dance. In our excursion we visited Cultural Heritage Centre to learn more about traditional things.

My life in St Jude is good because of the availability of teaching materials and resources which helps teachers to fulfil their responsibilities. St Jude is different to other schools because of Professional Development which teaches teachers to be modern, every day. Also, I like ESL (English as a Second Language) class which helps me a lot to improve my English.

Thank you for sponsoring me.

Sincerely, Elkanai.
