Ryde Rotary Satellite E-Club

Rotary Club of Ryde

Ryde Rotary's operations encompass our  very active satellite E-Club. A Satellite E-Club is an ideal way for people with busy lives and families to participate fully in the Rotary movement, without necessarily committing to attending weekly meetings in person.

E-Clubs are Rotary clubs that meet electronically. They follow the same policies as all Rotary clubs that are part of Rotary International. The key difference is that an E-Club conducts its weekly meetings via the club’s on-line forums and/or via teleconference, rather than requiring physical attendance at an appointed day and time.

As all Rotary clubs do, our E-Club meets weekly, performs and supports service projects in local and international communities, and we enjoy fellowship among members. Our E-Club is a “satellite” of the Rotary Club of Ryde, and belonging to the satellite E-Club is through membership of the Rotary Club of Ryde.

The E-Club meets via teleconference at 08:30 each Wednesday, and members may participate at any time (alternatively or additionally) via the on-line forum accessible by clicking “Forum” here. Meeting participation involves a small “participation fee” of $10, all of which will be directed to projects supported by the E-Club. Payment is via direct transfer to "Rotary Club of Ryde Inc e-Club", BSB 633 000   A/C 163 462 336

If you would like to participate via either of these avenues, please contact satellite E-Club projects director, Rob Mitchell, at robert.mitchell@tpg.com.au, or at 0412 220 736. We can then explain to you the simple steps necessary for either teleconferencing or forum involvement.

The simplest way to "make-up" via our E-Club is via audio participation in the regular Wednesday teleconferences. Just dial-in to our conference call number a few minutes before 08:30, and enter the conference code (which Rob will send you) when asked. We can provide you with other local dial-in numbers for other national and international locations if you wish. To see the visual component of meetings, and participate via computer audio, we'll provide you with a clickable link giving access to our teleconferencing system.

Our teleconferencing facility allows guest speakers to participate regularly in our meetings, and members and visitors are able to view visual presentations as is usual in conventional Rotary meetings.

In June 2017, our guest speaker was Di Gillies from Interplast, who brought us up-to-date on the way Interplast is changing lives in our region. You can listen to and watch Di's presentation at:

Our District Governor, Peter Ward attended our meeting 22/11/17. You can listen to Peter's presentation at :

John Bolger from indigo foundation spoke to us 28/2/18 to give us a (very positive) update on the work we are supporting in Tamil Nadu.

Our most recent major event was our regular E-QUIZ fundraiser (see http://www.e-quiz.org.au/ ).

Approximately quarterly, members and partners gather socially, usually to enjoy a luncheon or dinner together.
