101121 Rotary International President Elect Visit
Rotarians in District 9680
We are delighted that our Rotary International President Elect Kalyan Banerjee is taking time from his busy schedule to visit our District. He is only in the area for about 24 hours, and has graciously agreed to attend a reception in his honour on Sunday evening, 21 November, at the Cicada Function Centre in Terrey Hills.
The Rotary Club of St Ives is hosting this reception, and is pulling out all the stops to make it a fun and interesting cultural event. We will have professional Indian musicians and dancers in colourful costumes to provide a sample of “Bollywood” entertainment, as well as Australian country singer Geoff Williams to provide a hearty welcome to Australia.
Indian canapés plus wine and soft drinks are included in the ticket price of $50 per person. Proceeds from the night will go to the Rotary Polio Plus campaign.
The reception starts at 7:00pm and will finish by 9:30pm.
The dress code for the evening is lounge suit (coat & tie) or Indian attire. Ladies are encouraged to wear their saris if they have them!
I hope you, your partner, club members, and friends from the Indian Community can join us at this special event. It’s a rare privilege to get an opportunity to have a chat and a photo taken with a Rotary International President(Elect)!
We are very excited by the opportunity to introduce our Indian community to Rotary in Australia, and are already fielding enquiries from highly qualified Indian professionals and business leaders in our area about joining Rotary. This is a perfect way for you to highlight the internationality of Rotary!
Please call, email, or fax me for tickets no later than Wednesday, 17 November.
A brochure with directions to the wonderful Cicada venue is attached.
