INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
Australian Rotarians participate in activities to improve the lives and living conditions of others and to promote international understanding and goodwill.
Rotary Clubs are active in supporting developing countries in our region in the fields of Health, Hunger, Education and other Humanitarian Aid programmes. RAWCS facilitates their work.
The projects Rotary supports fall into the following categories:

DAYS FOR GIRLS
Days for Girls empowers girls and women worldwide with more dignity, health and safety through education and access to quality sustainable feminine hygiene kits. Days for Girls Ryde Area Team was established in 2016 and is supported and managed by Ryde Rotary members.
INTERPLAST
Interplast sends teams of volunteer plastic and reconstructive sureons, anaesthetists, nurses and allied health professionals to provide life-changing surgery and medical training in 17 countries across the Asia Pacific regionSUSTAINABLE CAMBODIA
Sustainable Cambodia works with the families of rural Cambodian villages to help them achieve sustainability and self-sufficiency through wells, irrigation systems, schools, training and empowerment.
The Magic of Rotary is the impact our volunteered skills, hours, and community can bring to make change in the world. President of Rotary International Stephanie Urchick defined this theme for 2024-25 working on a project to install water filters in a remote community - when they tested the system and local children saw clear water available to them for the first time, they asked her to "make the magic happen again".
Rotary International, the world's first service club organisation, is made up of over 33,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Its members form a global network of business and professional leaders who volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities and the world.
